Valentine's Day Date

This post is a bit late but the pictures from this night came out beautifully and I think it's still worth sharing.. so, Valentine's Day, the day of love, romance, roses, and chocolates. The day where I looked at my boyfriend and he looked at me and we both agreed that we wouldn't exchange gifts (yeah, right!) and we would lay low and not spend money on a fancy dinner out (okay, so we stuck by this one). Little did I know, my boyfriend bought tickets to a special Valentine's Day event at one of my favorite sanctuaries, The New York Botanical Garden. Yeah, it's cheesy, but my boyfriend knows me too well and I am so completely lucky to have met somebody like him. He genuinely loves to see me happy and no matter how many times I tell him it's okay if he doesn't like to come to the gardens with me, he insists that he does, that it grew on him and that he feels happy knowing that I'm having a good time. Siighh, he's so dreamy.

The event at the Garden was modest and romantic. There were several stations set up around the conservatory's Tropical Paradise exhibit with tastings of chocolate, banana, coconut macaroons, champagne or sparkling pomegranate juice and more. The lights were dimmed and there was lovely music playing as we strolled through the conservatory. There were other couples there too but it wasn't crowded, except around the chocolate tasting, and I don't blame them one bit, the chocolate was delicious!

It's interesting to see the exhibit at night. The conservatory was a lot cooler in temperature than during the day and everything was just much more quiet & peaceful. Thank you, Matt, for a beautiful evening, I couldn't have asked for anything more.
